I did a performance yesterday (Sept 28th) as a part of Culture Days which was hosted by Holophon audio arts organization based in Saskatchewan. Here are some small clips from it plus some fun little experiments with my excess ice that I had laying around.

I recently went to Video Games Live . They perform symphonic versions of a bunch of old and new video game soundtracks. It made me think about some of my old favourites and here are a few that didn't make their show, but have stuck with me for a long time. For some reason the Secret Of Mana soundtrack stuck with me as one of the best. and this one from Chrono Trigger Let's not forget Metroid ------------------------------

As some of you may know, I've been working on Augmented Reality projects at Talking Dog Studios and I also have a great love for sound in all it's forms. I think these two videos compliment each other and I think I'm curious to look more into these concepts. I've been playing around with a app for the iPhone called RJDJ that seems to sit in the middle of these two videos. Enjoy ... ------------------------------

The other day a friend posted this video online rhythm 23 by Hans Richter (1923) and music by The Soft Moon "Parallels" (2010) This got me thinking about the simple magic of animating shapes. I love animation and I've been recently thinking more of the coordination of sound and image (in particular black and white imagery). I've been playing around with making sounds with black and white imagery using a program called photosounder . The video above sent me on this journey through youtube and led me to this video. I had been introduced to Whitney a year or so ago through my interests in abstract computer graphics and music. His work was exploring the harmony of sound an image together. So, I was asked to give a presentation in a CS class at the U of R on Friday the 1st. My presentation can be found below. I was trying my hand at Google Presentation just to see what it was like. The presentation may need some explanation past this. I will probably be holding onto it and tweaking it over time. I'll be giving a workshop on Ableton live coming up in June I believe. I probably should go double check that.
